Overview - Reform in Primary Health Care
Integration of primary health care alliances
The federal budget announced a total new investment of $7.3 billion over five years into the health system with a focus on improving primary health care
The Federal government has committed to implement
several measures to improve primary health care delivery
including: after hours services, Medicare Locals (Primary
Health Care Organisations – PHCOs), additional 450 Super
Clinics, more funding for clinics and nurses to support
them, and the roll out of e-health by mid 2012.
